When Management Consultants Ian and Jo Allright set out to find their perfect Grecian bolthole, little did they know that their holiday aspirations would soon become an idyllic way of life.
Years of holiday escapes to Alonissos and Pelion had elicited a deep love for the region, but their initial property search had proved both underwhelming and fruitless, until local agent Faris Nejad presented them with a surprising discovery.
Tucked away down a winding country road amidst the heady scent of orange blossom, was a secret abode surrounded by ancient olive groves and wild mountain vistas on the edge of the Pagasitic Gulf. Fruit orchards brimming with produce; lemons, mandarins, pomegranates and pears, figs almonds and walnuts provided an almost limitless seasonal delicatessen on their doorstep, whilst the abundance of wildflowers, mountain trails and Aegean beaches promised all the wonders of a country retreat.
In one perfect moment, Ian and Jo had found their little piece of paradise along with a brand new future.
Now, eight years on The Copper Tree Olive Grove is a thriving, organic wonderland of local produce. Creating honey from their very own apiary, jams and preserves from their fruit orchards and most importantly, world class organic olive oil from the ancient groves, the Copper Tree is a testament to local, sustainable business and ingenuity.
The lovingly renovated and refurbished main house is as beautiful as its surroundings and a haven of natural craftsmanship. A magnificent span of ancient olive wood creates a stunning suspended organic stage for the handcrafted William Holland Copper basin. Exuding warmth and reflecting the ambient natural light the elemental aesthetic of the copper and olive wood combined with the rustic stone tiles are a perfect expression of the surrounding environment.
Set within the unique hexagonal bathroom, the freestanding William Holland Cuprosa Bateau bath has 180 degree views out over the mountains towards the ocean, presenting an oasis of tranquillity. Juliet balconies add to the romance of the architecture, whilst ornate iron railings, oak staircases and decadent crystal chandeliers create a glorious interior brimming with rustic yet luxurious charm.
